About
Lower Pines Campground occupies a prime location in Yosemite Valley along the Merced River at 4,000 feet elevation. Surrounded by California black oak, ponderosa pine, and incense-cedar, the campground provides filtered views of Yosemite's iconic granite cliffs. The 74 sites accommodate tents, RVs up to 40 feet, and trailers up to 35 feet, though not every site fits maximum-length equipment. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring, and bear-proof food storage locker (35"D x 43"W x 28"H). The campground features paved roads and parking spurs, flush toilets, potable water, and an amphitheater. Showers are available for a fee at Curry Village, a short walk away. The free Valley shuttle stops at the campground entrance, connecting to trailheads, restaurants, groceries, and other services. Reservations are highly competitive and released five months in advance on the 15th of each month at 7:00 a.m. PST. Sites typically sell out within minutes during peak season. A 7-day camping limit applies in Yosemite Valley from May 1 through September 15.
